SINGAPORE – The National University Hospital (NUH) clarified its hospital admission procedures in response to a video and message posted on Facebook alleging that its staff had ignored a wheelchair pregnant woman during 7 minutes.

The video, posted by Facebook user Preet Sandhu on Sunday, November 4, shows a pregnant woman in a wheelchair holding her belly in pain.
A male staff member is seen at a counter trying to assist another person in a queue. At some point, a carrier turns to the man and talks to him. He answers and after a few moments, the porter takes the woman.
Another woman may also be heard reprimanding the male staff member at the counter. Preet Sandhu, a Facebook user, said that the hospital employee was "rude" and had an "indifferent attitude".
The video has since been viewed 83,000 times and has been shared more than 2,200 times.
In an article published Monday night on Facebook, NUH said it was aware of the video: "The hospital is seriously considering this case and we have examined it.
"On the basis of our CCTV recordings, our patient was transferred following delivery 4 minutes after arriving at our EMD (Emergency Medicine Department) on Sunday."
NUH stated that the woman had arrived at EMD at 11:16 am and had taken her place outside the department while her husband was approaching the checkpoint located at the entrance.
A porter took the woman to EMD at 11:18 and at 11:20 she was transferred to the delivery room.
The hospital said the woman gave birth Sunday night and that her mother and child were well.
