Honda MotoGP rider Dani Pedrosa announced that he will be retiring from the Motorcycle Grand Prix at the end of 2018.

Pedrosa, who will turn 33 in September, announced the news at a special press conference before the German Grand Prix this weekend at Sachsenring.
The Catalan rider had been part of Honda 's setup since 2006, but he was left without a ride for next year when the team signed Jorge Lorenzo as his replacement for 2019.
Although no plant option was left available at that time, Lorenzo's Honda initiative made Pedrosa the most visible target of the new operation. Yamaha satellite, SIC Racing Team, belonging to the Sepang circuit.
But Pedrosa has now confirmed that he will end his MotoGP career after competing only with Honda machines since his Grand Prix debut in 2001.

After winning the 125cc title in 2003 and two consecutive 250cc titles in the following two seasons, Pedrosa has always been a favorite in MotoGP despite frequent injuries, some of which threatened to end his career prematurely.
He has already racked up 31 wins and 112 podiums in the premier category, but he missed a MotoGP title, finishing third three times – Ducati's Casey Stoner in 2007, and Lorenzo at the time. 2010 and 39 12.
Pedrosa's most recent shot at goal was in 2013, but he lost the championship lead after suffering a broken collarbone in Germany and would only finish in third place with his rookie teammate Marc Marquez .

While he is about to leave the sport without a Queen class title, Pedrosa has helped Honda at seven MotoGP builder championships – and has contributed to six team titles for holding Repsol-supported factory.
Pedrosa's decision to retire will reinforce the hope of several drivers to carve out a place in MotoGP for 2019, while SIC Racing – which has signed a three-year contract with Yamaha – will now focus on alternative options first signature expected Franco Morbidelli.
