Samsung has announced a new smartphone – Galaxy Jean – in his home country, South Korea. The Galaxy Jean is a rebranded version of the Galaxy A6 + that was launched in May this year. The main difference between Galaxy Jean and Galaxy A6 + is in terms of RAM and integrated storage. While the Galaxy A6 + comes with built-in storage of 3GB RAM / 32GB and integrated storage models of 4GB RAM / 64GB, the Galaxy Jean is only available in a 3GB built-in storage variant of RAM / 32 GB. Notably, the Samsung Galaxy A6 + was also launched in India earlier this year. In addition, the Galaxy A6 + is available with a different name – Galaxy A9 Star Lite – in China.
The Samsung Galaxy Jean was listed on the South Korean website of the company, first spotted by SamMobile. The list itself confirms that it's the same Galaxy A6 + smartphone. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box and Super AMOLED sport display. The smartphone has a unibody metal design and is available in two color options – Black and Lavender. Notably, the phone is available via KT carrier in the country and has been rated at KRW 440 000 (approximately Rs. 27,200). The price of the Galaxy A6 + started at 369 euros (about 29,500 rupees). Interestingly, the Galaxy A6 + has recently received a Rs. 2,000 discounted price in India, and is now available at the best purchase price of Rs. 23990.
Samsung Galaxy Jean Specification
The SIM Simple ( Nano) Samsung Galaxy Jean runs Android 8.0 Oreo with Samsung Experience. The smartphone sports a full-HD + (1080×2220 pixels) 6-inch Infinity AMOLED display with an 18.5: 9 aspect ratio. The handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 SoC, combined with 3GB of RAM.
In terms of optics, the Galaxy A6 + carries a dual rear camera configuration that consists of a 16 megapixel primary sensor with f / 1.7 aperture and 5 megapixel secondary sensor with aperture f / 1.9. On the front, the smartphone is equipped with a 24-megapixel camera sensor with f / 1.9 aperture. Both rear and front camera modules come with LED units.
The Samsung Galaxy Jean comes with 32GB of built-in storage, expandable via a microSD card (up to 256GB). The handset connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11a / b / g / n (2.4 / 5GHz), Cat 6 LTE, HT40, Bluetooth 4.2 (LE up to 1Mbps), ANT + , USB Type B, NFC and GPS. The onboard sensors are an accelerometer, a fingerprint sensor, a gyroscope, a gravity sensor, a hall sensor, a proximity sensor and an RGB sensor.
The phone is stored under a hood of 3500mAh. The dimensions of the Galaxy A6 + are 160.2×75.7×7.9mm and it weighs 191 grams
