In a major exclusivity, Bloomberg confirmed the biggest details we already knew about the Galaxy S10. But he also revealed that there is a truth to a bad rumor which filtered earlier this month: Samsung "plays" with the removal of the Galaxy S10's headphone jack.
According to Bloomberg, the Galaxy S10 without jack is currently at the prototype stage, which is indicative of a more general change: the company "could follow Apple by opting for a totally wireless technology with its devices."
Samsung has been one of the last smartphone makers to keep the headphone jack and this stubbornness is appreciated by fans. It goes without saying that the deletion would cause a significant outcry. Moreover, such an approach was already predicted for the Galaxy Note 10 but seeing it evolve for the Galaxy S10 would be controversial, to say the least.
For Samsung's defense, this decision makes sense.
As mentioned, the Galaxy S10 is becoming an uncompromising device worthy of the Galaxy 10th anniversary celebrations. He has triple rear cameras, a Ultrasonic display reader, New gradient color schemes, a Option 5G and Samsung has not only teased his Design feat without border and without notch, the company has boasted about the Galaxy S10 twice (1,2).
Therefore, the obvious question has always been to ask the question: how will Samsung put so much innovation inside? And it seems we have our answer now.
Needless to say, Bloomberg is not foolproof (something from Apple, Amazon and others will vouch for the moment). But if the Galaxy S10 represents the new start that Samsung wants after an iterative year 2018, it seems more and more that the introduction of new technologies requires the sacrifice of something old…
