Sevilla remains behind behind leader Barca with draw in Sociedad

SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain: Sevilla did not enjoy a weekend of slippage for the La Liga squad as it was held in front of Real Sociedad on Sunday, setting the stage for a four-point lead and Barcelona champions.

Sevilla had the chance to go to second place and reduce the deficit with Barca to two points, but they missed their chance in a very difficult match, seriously missing injured strikers Wissam Ben Yedder and Andre Silva, officials of 12 of the league's 22 goals this season.

Jesus Navas, the veteran winger, took advantage early in the second period, while former Sevilla striker, Sandro Ramirez, missed the best opportunity, losing the lead and shooting at the # 39; gap.

Sevilla is second in the standings, blocking 20 points with Atletico Madrid, held at a 1-1 draw at Leganes on Saturday, and Alaves, beaten 2 to 1 ahead of Basque neighbor Eibar with a header from Pope Diop.

The Barca is the best of 24 after his late win against Rayo Vallecano (3-2). Espanyol could rank second over Sevilla if he beat Athletic Bilbao at home on Monday.

Also on Sunday, Huesca's top-flight beginners were denied their first win since the first game of the season by a tying goal from Getafe striker Jorge Molina, which allowed their match to end on a score of 1-1.

Pressure coach Javi Calleja was in a 1-1 draw at home to Levante, who gave them a point over the relegation zone.
