Although Singapore has been spared major natural disasters such as the series of typhoons that hit Southeast Asia and neighboring regions in the last three months, it has faced what could be its life under the effects of climate change.

This year alone, the island has experienced several sudden floods, the latest on September 19, when roads in the Ang Mo Kio region were flooded following a particularly intense rain . Floods have hit the main shopping street Orchard Road, affecting businesses and car tires.
