This 16-year-old was the youngest member of the English gymnastics team at the Commonwealth Games in April, but she took advantage of the opportunity to help her nation win the medal d & # 39; money.
And after taking third place at the Thialf Summer Challenge in the Netherlands earlier this month, the Great British team with Becky Downie, two-time European Champion, Alice Kinsella and Georgia-Mae Fenton, champion of Commonwealth Kelly Simm, are looking for another piece of silverware to add to their collection in Glasgow.
After a whirling year, Stanhope, the gymnast of the City of Liverpool, is still struggling to understand the magnitude of her exploits.
"It was really great, all the experience of the competition for the England team, I just enjoyed all my time on the Gold Coast", she said.
"That made me do more of what I can do as a senior gymnast, and come back, it made me want to work harder to try to make the team European what I did.
"I went to the Commonwealth Games for the team and the Europeans are a team competition, so it was the perfect preparation for this weekend in Glasgow."
The championships will run from August 2nd to 12th as part of the inaugural European Championships – the new multi-sport event involving European athletics, swimming, cycling, gymnastics, sports, and sporting events. rowing and triathlon.
And Stanhope, from Warrington, believes that the roar of the British partisan crowd will push her team and herself to get even more noticed.
"I think it will be great," she added. "I will not have played such a scene before, with the crowd behind me, so I will feel very different from what I'm used to.
"There will be so much more support, and I can not wait to go out and show what I can do.
"I am looking forward to gain even more experience at a major event, which will be very useful for the future, and I would love to continue my routines and actually contribute to the team.
"The training went well and we are excited to move to the competition stage now."
