About
Subnautica is an underwater adventure game on an alien oceanic planet. A huge and open world full of wonder and danger awaits you!
Key Features
- Dive Into a Wide Underwater World – You have landed on an alien oceanic world, and the only way to go is down. The oceans of Subnautica range from shallow, sun-drenched coral reefs to deep seawater trenches, lava fields, and bio-luminescent underwater rivers. Manage your oxygen supply by exploring kelp forests, plateaus, reefs and sinuous cave systems. The water teems with life: a part is useful, largely harmful.
- Recover, Tinker and Survive – After a forced landing in your Life Pod, the clock rotates to find water, food and to grow the equipment you need to explore. Collect ocean resources around you. Diving equipment, lights, housing modules and submersibles. Venture deeper and train yourself more to find scarcer resources, allowing you to craft more advanced objects.
- Build Underwater Habitats – Build bases on the seabed. Choose layouts and components and manage hull integrity as depth and pressure increase. Use your base to store resources, park vehicles, and replenish oxygen reserves as you explore the vast ocean.
- Decipher the Mystery – What Happened to this Planet? Signs abound that something is wrong. What made you crash? What is infecting marine life? Who built the mysterious structures scattered around the ocean? Can you find a way out of the living world?
- Disrupting the Food Chain – The ocean is full of life: use the ecosystem to help you. Attract and distract a threatening creature with fresh fish, or simply swim as fast as you can to avoid grinding the jaws of roaming predators.
- Manipulate Pressure – Build a pressure-responsive waterproof nanosuit, or PRAWN suit, and explore extreme depth and heat. Modify the suit with mining drills, torpedo launchers, propulsion guns, grapples and more.
- Fear the Night – As the sun sets, predators come out. The ocean is ruthless for those who are not prepared in the dark. The areas that can be explored during the day become dangerous at night, but also reveal a beauty that those who hide from the darkness will never see.
- Dive Under the Ocean Floor – Underground systems meander under the seabed, from obscure and claustrophobic passages to caverns illuminated by bio-luminescent life and burning lava flows. Explore the world under the seabed, but watch your oxygen levels and be sure to avoid the threats lurking in the dark.
