Swansea defender Joe Rodon has signed a new deal with the club that will keep him at the Liberty Stadium until 2022.

The 21-year old, who started at Swansea in their academy, has endured a rapid rise this season having made 12 appearances which included his club debut.

Rodon also earned a call-up to Ryan Giggs’s Wales squad.

“The coaching staff and manager have looked after me very well over the last few months,” Rodon told the club website.

“They have integrated me into the group and since Preston they have been careful with me. Hopefully I can repay them and the club with my performances.

“Everything has happened so quickly in the last few months. I’ve played regularly and then I got a Wales call-up, so I’m loving life. Hopefully there’s a lot more to come in the future.”
