Fortnite is one of the most popular games in the world – which inevitably means that some people are trying to cheat.

But as they say, what's going on around, and now it's been revealed that some of these cheats have unwittingly installed malware on their computers.

Rainway, who discovered the problem, revealed that a cheat software had also installed malicious adware on the computers of those who used it.

Up to now, it is estimated that more than 78,000 users have been affected.

Rainway discovered the attack after the company's engineering team had noticed a huge influx of error reports in late June.

After investigating the reports, Rainway discovered that they were all linked to Fortnite cheating kits.

Cheat packages have installed adware, but have also created a "man-in-the-middle" attack – an attack that involves the insertion of an unknown third party into a communication bidirectional. 19659003] This third party can then intercept and read the data sent between the two parties and steal confidential information.

Rainway reported the software to its host, and it has now been removed.

A blog on the subject said: "Although it should be self-evident, I think you should not download random programs.

" An excellent personal security tip is that if something is too good for to be true, you will probably need to reformat your PC.

"It's hard to categorically prevent people from being malicious, but that does not mean that it's hard to prevent the spread."
