SINGAPORE – A 17-year-old girl has been arrested by police for alleged involvement in at least 20 online shopping scams selling BTS and Monsta X concert products.

Police said in a statement on Tuesday (April 16th) that between September and December last year, she had received several reports of victims allegedly deceived by an online salesman of Carousell, who sold concert products from both Korean groups.

After the victims made their payment by bank transfer, some people would not have received the items, while others would have received counterfeit items, the police said.

During follow-up investigations, agents from the commercial affairs department identified the teenage girl and arrested her on Monday.

It would be involved in at least 20 such scams and would have defrauded a total of $ 1,200 from its victims.

She should be accused of cheating Wednesday in court.

The offense of cheating is punishable by a term of imprisonment of up to 10 years and a fine.
