A diet enriched with cottonseed oil improves cholesterol in young men.
The doctors conducted a five-day outpatient study on 15 men aged 18 to 45 with obesity to check the effects of a diet rich in bavovnyano and olive oil on the lipid profiles.
Cholesterol and triglyceride levels in volunteers decreased significantly when they were dieting, which contained dishes rich in cottonseed oil. In particular, the average decrease was 8% of total cholesterol, as well as 15% of low density lipoproteins and 30% of triglycerides.
The cotton diet also increased the level of "good" cholesterol by 8%. Researchers have suggested that the fatty acids in cottonseed oil can help prevent the accumulation of excess triglycerides.
