SINGAPORE – A long electric scooter seen on the road this weekend has been seized by the Land Transport Authority (LTA).
The authority said in an article on Facebook that law enforcement officers had seen a man drive the modified electric scooter Monday morning (October 22) during routine patrols. The personal mobility device was impounded on the same day.
The device was also overweight and could not be used legally on public roads.
An image uploaded by LTA shows a long metal structure attached to the back of the electric scooter. In another picture, we see police officers weighing the structure.
The long electric scooter was reported Saturday after the Roads.sg Facebook page released a video of a man driving the aircraft on a road.
According to Roads.sg, the video, titled Super Long E-scooter, was filmed Friday at lunchtime, along Paya Lebar Road. It has since attracted 69,000 views and more than 350 actions.
The LTA has stated that active mobility offenses, such as reckless driving, can result in heavy penalties, such as fines and / or jail time.
Users of personal mobility devices can check the LTA website for more information on the relevant regulations and rules of conduct.
