The facelift of the new Mercedes E-Class 2020 spied in the off-road form

The current Mercedes E-Class is close to half its life, as evidenced by these new snapshots that reveal that Mercedes is developing a version of the model of the fifth generation that has been modernized.

The car pictured here is an all-terrain All Terrain class, suggesting that Mercedes will update the full E-Class lineup of all-terrain, classic sedan and station wagon models, as well as Coupé and Cabriolet variants, in one fell swoop.

Our images suggest that it will be a facelift similar in content to that completed on the C-Class earlier this year. The masking applied to this E-Class E-Class facelift mule is minor, covering the front apron, grille, headlights and taillights, so design changes will be limited to modifications made in these areas.

Lighthouses will probably have the same eyebrow lighting signature as the latest versions of Mercedes, such as the latest CLS and Class A.

The changes to the interior should also be quite simple, with infotainment updating the agenda. The new MBUX system will be integrated and present the Hey Mercedes voice assistant, a new user interface for infotainment and a new steering wheel.

As far as the motors are concerned, the range should not be changed too drastically, but more electrified options are inevitable. At the top of the range, AMG models, whether it's six AMG 43 cylinders or V8 AMG 63 V8 engines, could come with more power.

With prototypes on the road, we plan to unveil Class E in the next 12 months, before it goes on sale in early 2020.
