Spanish scientists have discovered one of the oldest Way stars
A newly discovered star is considered one of the oldest of the Milky Way.
Scientists from the Institute of Astrophysics of Canarias (IAC) in Spain think that it could have formed about 300 million years after Big Bang & # 39;
Jonay González Hernández, researcher at IAC, said: "The theory predicts that these stars could form just after, and using the material of the first supernovae, whose progenitors were the first massive stars in the Galaxy. I hope that the star, known as J0815 + 4729, which corresponds to the Lynx constellation, will help them to know more about the Big Bang, the popular theory about the evolution of the galaxy.
Rafael Rebolo, Director of IAC: We believed information related to the nucleosynthesis of the Big Bang. We are working on a high-resolution spectrograph and broad spectral spectrum in order to measure (among other things) the detailed chemical composition of stars with unique properties such as J0815 + 4729.
