The iPhone 10 might have some issues

[ad_1]

Can you believe that the iPhone is more than a year old? When it was released last year, it marked the biggest redesign of the iPhone since its debut in 2007.

The iPhone X featured game-changing features like its 5.8-inch "edge-to-edge" OLED display with Super Retina resolution, the absence of the Home button, a 3D depth-scanning facial recognition feature called Face ID and wireless charging. It has been discontinued and replaced by the iPhone XS and XR models, but the iPhone is a major milestone in Apple's history.

But like any other piece of technology, the iPhone is still susceptible to flaws and failures. In fact, Apple has so far received that some iPhone X units have serious hardware issues.

Read on and see if you are affected. You may be eligible for a replacement unit.

iPhone X display issues

Apple is warning its customers that their fancy $ 1,000 iPhone X smartphones may be having major issues with their touchscreen OLED displays.

Apple says that it has "determined that some iPhone X displays may experience touch issues due to a component that might fail on the display module."

This means that a faulty internal part, the iPhone X's touchscreen may act strangely or could even fail completely. For example, your iPhone X 's whole display (or portions of its display) can fail to respond to touch inputs.

In other instances, your iPhone X display can also help you from "phantom keys" even when it's idle and react as if it was touched.

You can just imagine how frustrating this can be. Apps opening on their own, constant typos, inadvertent taps and even worse, your display failing when you need it the most. The consequences can be serious.

Apple will repair your defective iPhone for free

If you're experiencing these issues with your iPhone X's touchscreen display, Apple has confirmed that it will replace the faulty part on eligible devices for free.

The keyword here is "eligible" since there are restrictions on what iPhone X can be serviced. Any issue that can not be remedied.

This means your iPhone X has to be cracked nor dinged and the phone itself has to turn on. If you have any other issues, there may be additional costs involved.

In addition, if you bought your iPhone X, you can be eligible for free local repair since Apple can restrict the service to the country and country of purchase.

If you already replaced your iPhone, please contact Apple for a refund.

Keep in mind that it does not extend the one-year warranty of your iPhone X, it covers all iPhone X units for 3 years after their first retail sale.

However, Apple does not provide a serial number tool to check for an iPhone X's eligibility. This suggests that all of the iPhone X units, regardless of manufacture date, are eligible for display.

MacBook Pros are having problems, too

It's not just the iPhone X that's having problems. Apple also confirmed that 128GB and 256GB solid-state drives (SSD) were used in 13-inch MacBook Pro (non-Touch Bar) units.

If you bought your MacBook Pro between June 2017 and June 2018, you are eligible for this repair program.

If you have this unit, it's important that you take your MacBook Pro for repair as soon as possible or you could lose your files and documents.

To check if your 13-inch MacBook Pro is affected, you can enter your laptop's serial number on this link.
