Pogba will face former Juve teammate Bonucci in Group H of the Champions League

Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci said he was on good terms with Paul Pogba, despite the transfer of the latter to Manchester United.

The two men will meet face-to-face Wednesday night in the Champions League, while Pogba will return to the stadium that he's called home between 2012 and 2016.

Bonucci said: "With Paul, we have always had a very good relationship.

"Apart from the fact that we are players, we are all human beings and we grew up together, so we have a very good friendship.

"We had already met – and he told me that it was a great emotion for him to come to this stadium, which was once his stadium.

"I hope that he will play a good game, but I hope obviously that Juventus will win."

Bonucci is on his second trip to Juventus after spending last season at AC Milan, and he does not think it's impossible for Pogba to return to Turin at some point.

He said: "Of course, it's great when the best players arrive at Juventus, and I say it about (Paul) Pogba and many others.

"I've had the chance to live this in person and come back to Juventus, but what Paul will decide will depend on him, not me."

Juventus won the first leg 1-0 at Old Trafford last month but head coach Massimiliano Allegri believes United could be more dangerous away from home.

"We have to do better than last time in Manchester," said Allegri.

"They could be very dangerous at any time of the match.

"They can be very fast in attack and counter-attack with (Paul) Pogba, (Alexis) Sanchez, (Marcus) Rashford and (Anthony) Martial.

"We have to play the right game, we have to focus on this game because it is very important for us."
