A ship caught fire on the waters off Marina Barrage on Monday, July 16th.

Stomper Karthik alerted Stomp to the incident and shared photos and a video that he had taken of a ship pulling a jet of water over the container ship called Salam Mesra.

The Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) said in a Facebook message that they had been alerted at 3:10 pm the crew cabin on the upper decks

Four firefighting ships were deployed by SCDF Marine Command in response to the incident.

"Upon arrival, the SCDF Marine firefighters adopted a two-pronged approach on the outside of the affected ship using 2 rapid response fire tank water monitors and by deploying 2 jets of water to enter the cabins in order to mitigate the fire in depth, "said the SCDF operations, the fire was extinguished
