  Over the next few months, many of us will take the road, individually, in family and in party groups. There will be playlists. There will be stops in strange and exotic places. There will be nights spent in cheap motels. The highlight will be unexplored destinations, beaches, lake borders, and all sorts of additional sights.

  For a simple and joyful driving outdoors, few cars can compete with Pure spirit of the great roadster of all time, the Mazda Miata MX-5, now in its fourth generation. This is my favorite Miata since the first generation, a car that I have owned and that I have taken several times on the road.
