SINGAPORE – National Parks Council (NParks) to Host New President as Veteran Public Servant Mr. Benny Lim will take up his duties on Wednesday, August 1st.

. Ms. Ong has been president of NParks since 2007 and has been on the board for 12 years. Community in Nature – a movement to connect Singaporeans with the island's natural heritage – has also been launched to engage and inspire Singaporeans. The Singapore Botanical Gardens have also become a UNESCO World Heritage Site during his tenure.
The new appointment comes amid changes to statutory boards, mainly the termination of the Singapore Agribusiness and Veterinary Authority (AVA) next April. NParks, which is a statutory office under the jurisdiction of the DND, will perform animal duties that fall under the jurisdiction of AVA. About 300 AVA staff will be transferred to NParks

The other six are Mr. Andreas Sohmen -Pao, Mr. Warren Fernandez, Dr. Suriani Suratman, Mr. Guy Harvey-Samuel, Mr. George Huang and Mr. Kenneth Er. Three new members – Mr. Cheng Hsing Yao, Ms. Shantini Ramachandra and Mr. Musa Fazal – will join the office.
All appointments are for a period of two years commencing August 1st.
