Iwani Mawocha, 23, is one of the finalists for New Face 2018, a model competition that has unearthed some of Singapore's greatest supermodels, actresses and celebrities.
The competition is open to all age groups and this year's auditions attracted more than 100 participants. The final will take place on November 15th and the winner will walk away with a cash prize of $ 10,000.

Iwani Mawocha wants to be able to speak at least 11 languages before reaching 50 years old.
Although this dream may seem almost impossible to many, it is not a very big challenge for the so-called "hyper-polyglot budding". Aged 23, he is currently learning six languages and will get a seventh (German) next year.
She is also a part-time actress for The Young Company – a subsidiary of Singapore Repertory Theater – and a user experience / user interface designer.
Iwani, who left Zimbabwe for Singapore in 2014 to attend Yale-NUS College as the first Kewalram Chanrai scholar, said jokingly that she was almost Singaporean: "Every time I come home, I'm surprised see how much Singapore has changed me.

Tell us about your hobbies.
I am a collector of hobbies – I like to learn new things. My current hobby is furniture upholstery and taekwondo, but I have learned to do a lot of other things, such as instruments, languages, coding, graphics and videography.
What is your animal spirit?
I do not have one, but sometimes, when I'm really stressed, I think I'm a shiba inu (a dog type) in a middle-class family. It seems like a really cold moment.
What is the most proud moment of your life up to now?
Become one of the youngest finalists of the Digital Female Leader Award. I was nominated in the Global Hero category and I did not think I had a chance among the CEOs and technology leaders of large companies. I will attend the award ceremony in Munich in December and pray that God will continue to open the doors there.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Jalapeno Kettle corn and gluten-free brownies, both of Little Farms.
What's your biggest pet peeve?
I can not handle certain sounds of the mouth … or when people spit on the floor.
