Mr. CormanThe Existential Crisis Ended Early: Apple TV + Canceled Joseph Gordon Levitt-Directed Drama After One Season, our sister site Variety reports. Today’s new episode, “The Big Picture”, will serve as the series finale.
Gordon-Levitt played Josh Corman, a public school teacher in Los Angeles who gave up on a promising music career and is now wondering what exactly he does with his life. Arturo Castro (Big city) starred as Josh’s friend and roommate, Victor, with Debra Winger (The ranch) playing the mother of Josh Ruth and Juno Temple (Ted lasso) playing his ex Megan.
Mr. Corman – which Gordon-Levitt also created, wrote, directed and produced by executives – debuted on Apple TV + in August. The cancellation limits his series to a total of 10 episodes. This is one of the first shows to be canceled by the upstart streamer; Small voice was the first, deleted in August after one season.
Gordon-Levitt’s working relationship with Apple TV + will continue, however, as he stars in and produces the animated series. Wolfboy and the Factory at Everything, who debuted on the streamer last month.
