A wise person online once said, "Every day on Twitter, there is a main character. The goal is never to be. This quote can also be applied to the Baltimore Orioles this season. Overall, the team has been a kind of terrible that few people have ever seen in their lives. Yet at least once a week, a player on this team finds a way to stand out from the crowd as the worst player on the team. This is the case of Chris Davis during his unblemished historic series, Anthony Santander with his terrible pitch at home, and even local broadcaster Gary Thorne, whose spirit still seems on the verge of collapse whenever these birds are facing the Yankees. Today's unfortunate main character for Baltimore was receiver Chance Sisco.
The very bad day of Sisco was unfortunately not limited to a grumpy subject, but we do not have to go back very far to see where it started. In the bottom of the sixth with a two-point lead over the Red Sox, Mitch Moreland hit a ball into the shallow left field. Three meaningless Orioles players headed in the direction indicated by the balloon and let it land between the three. The catcher was flipped awkwardly and was lying on the ground, aching as another race arrived to stow things up. Sisco was able to get up and continue the game for the moment. The receiver had two drummers who earned him a break from any pain before a fatal hit from Xander Bogaerts' bat hit him.
It hurts so much to see that even I feel the need to carry a cup more often in my daily life. Fortunately, Chance was optimistic as the training staff had pulled him out of the diamond: he had to stop playing for the Orioles three innings early.
