The sisters would have given their father a mixture of alcohol and an "excessive" amount of sleeping pills "in the hope that it would kill him". However, the sheriff said that Tomaselli had put too much alcohol in the drink, which diluted it.

Their father was lying on the couch, breathing hard, but it did not seem like he would die.

Once their father was dead, the girls sold the house and shared a $ 120,000 profit with their brother, who, according to the sheriff's office, was not involved in the father's murder.

Tomaselli and Roberts have been arrested and charged with first degree murder, officials said.
