The Los Angeles County Theme Park has been creative in getting around strict restrictions put in place by the state due to the pandemic.

Six Flags Magic Mountain will partially reopen next week, the theme park announced on Friday.

The Los Angeles County destination has been creative in getting around the tight restrictions put in place by the state due to the pandemic.

For the first time, Six Flags Magic Mountain will be a driving experience with millions of lights, festive holiday themes and seasonal music, according to park officials.

“We are delighted to reopen our park to safely celebrate the holidays with this magical and unprecedented event,” Six Flags Magic Mountain President Don McCoy said in a statement. “We have managed to transform the traditional operation of our beloved Holiday in the Park into a new driving experience that is sure to delight customers and team members. We are proud and honored to help our clients create special vacation memories and provide a sense of hope and a little respite during this very difficult year. “

The park will select nights from November 20 to January 3, 2021.

The move comes as SoCal’s main theme parks remain locked in a bitter battle with Governor Gavin Newsom, whose conditions for reopening have been called “unachievable”.

During an earnings call Thursday, Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Chapek took a few pictures to Newsom about the statement. The closure of Disneyland since mid-March has cost the company billions of dollars and tens of thousands of employees their jobs.
