Skyrim can run at 60 fps on PS5 with just one mod, does not disable trophies

Skyrim PS5 60fps mod

And just like that, someone created a mod for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Special Edition that runs the game at 60fps on PS5 (and PS4, sort of). The mod’s author, MrWright, posted a brief rundown of how it works on YouTube, and it’s safe to say Skyrim has never performed better on PlayStation consoles.

By the way, you read the title correctly. As the mod description explains, you can indeed run Skyrim at 60 fps without sacrificing the Trophy functionality. Below is a brief step-by-step description of how to make it work.

  1. Download and activate the 60fps mod
  2. Start a backup (or start a new one)
  3. Return to the main menu (without completely closing the game)
  4. Disable 60fps mod in mod menu
  5. Skyrim should now run at 60fps even without the mod enabled, allowing trophies (as long as you’re not using any other mod)
  6. Repeat steps 1-5 every time you open Skyrim

Again, if you’ve enabled other mods, trophies still won’t be available.

And yes, this mod technically works on PS4 and PS4 Pro as well, but the results are not as noticeable as when the game works on PS5 thanks to backward compatibility.

So there you have it: Skyrim running at (around) 60fps on PS5. Are you tempted to return to the world of the Dragonborn with this mod? Shout out in the comments section below.
