Slack’s 2021 is not a good start.

The new year isn’t a good start, at least for Slack. The workplace messaging platform suffered an outage of more than three hours on Monday that prevented some users from sending messages or signing in to the service.
Slack was back up and running for many people around 10 a.m. PT, although the company said on its status page that it was still working to fully resolve issues and some customers “may experience degraded performance.”
The company confirmed the outage by posting a message on its status page at 7:14 a.m. PT. “Customers may have difficulty loading channels or signing into Slack at this time,” the company wrote. “Our team is investigating and we will get more information to you as soon as we have it. We apologize for any disruption caused.”

It is not known what caused the outage or when normal service will be fully restored. “We are continuing to investigate connection issues for customers and have improved the incident on our end to reflect a service outage,” the company said at 8:20 a.m. PT. All hands are on the deck on our side for further investigation. ”
A Slack spokesperson pointed out Twitter account @SlackStatus for updates.
Slack is being acquired by enterprise software giant Salesforce for $ 27.7 billion, an agreement announced in December.
The blackout quickly propelled Slack to the top of Twitter trending topics in the United States on Monday, as people flocked to the social media site to share their ideas.
