SLO County Reports 315 New COVID-19 Cases, 1 More Death

San Luis Obispo County added 315 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing the county’s total to 15,929 confirmed cases as of January 19.

Health officials say 53 people are hospitalized. Another 2,443 people are recovering at home and health officials say 12,923 people have recovered.

San Luis Obispo County reports that 15 of 38 licensed and staffed intensive care beds in the county are currently occupied. Seven of them are taken by COVID-19 patients.

The county also added an additional death, bringing the total to 136 deaths attributed to COVID-19.

  • California Men’s Colony (detainees) – 2142
  • Atascadero – 1,396
  • Arroyo Grande – 1,144
  • Nipomo – 1 123
  • Grover Beach – 679
  • Ocean – 549
  • Templeton – 465
  • San Miguel – 398
  • Bears – 351
  • Cal Poly (campus residents) – 324
  • Morro Bay – 319
  • Pismo Beach – 253
  • Atascadero State Hospital (patients) – 187
  • Cambria – 133
  • Shandon – 118
  • Saint Margaret – 104
  • Creston – 65 years old
  • Cayucos – 55
  • Avila Beach – 26
  • San Simeon – 13

The location of an additional 85 cases is under investigation and nine more are listed as ‘other’, which includes communities with fewer than five cases. The Department of Public Health does not identify these locations.

Community COVID-19 testing sites are currently open to the public in San Luis Obispo, Paso Robles, Morro Bay, Grover Beach and Nipomo.
