The climber Ivan Fiala, the father of actress Zuzana Fialová, died

At the age of 76, mountaineer and coach Ivan Fiala, the father of Zuzana Fialová, died. TASR has confirmed three independent sources. Fiala climbers have worked out of Europe in 15 expeditions on the five continents of the world. He was one of the first Slovaks to have reduced the Himalayas to eighty-five years, Nanga Parbat co-organized with Michal Orolin in 1971.

Born August 25, 1941 in Bratislava. On his account he has hundreds of sorties not only in our Tatras. In the Alps, for example, he went to the pillar Veveričiek in Cima Ovest, and he was the first to go to Blaitiére.

In 1969, Fiala participated in an expedition to the Pakistani part of the Hindukush and was part of a team that headed to the virgin summit of Bajpas-Zom, from a height of 6700 meters. They called him Bratislava. On the third highest hill of the Hindukush, Istor-o-nal (7,398 meters), it occurred during the same expedition on July 15.

UNESCO Honorary Diploma

In 1982, he obtained the title of Mercenary Honorary Diploma of the International Fair Play Committee at UNESCO. In November 2002, Ivan Fiala was elected Honorary President of the Elite Himalayan Club 8000 Climbing Club. In 2003, he became the President of the Slovak Olympic Club Club. In June 2005, he resigned from this position. Ferdinand Martinenga awarded him a gold medal in May 2004.
