The current capacity of the Republican repository of radioactive waste in Mochovce in the volume of 7,200 containers is filled to 74.11%. JAVYS also obtained five cases of seizures of radioactive material of unknown origin, in particular the various components of agricultural technology.

Nuclear and Decommissioning Society, a. s. (JAVYS) was transported in the first half of this year and subsequently deposited 85 radioactive waste containing low-level radioactive waste in its Republic Radioactive Waste Depot (RÚ RAO) in Mochovce. From Friday, the state company reported that the current capacity of 7,200 units of radioactive waste was filled to 74.11%

During the first half, JAVYS provided five cases of seizures of radioactive materials from 39, origin unknown, with components mainly different from agricultural technology. "The captured radioactive materials, after identification and documentation, are sent to the Nuclear and Disarmament Society, and." Said JAVYS spokeswoman Miriam Žiaková. "The materials that respect the storage limits in the Republic of Radioactive Waste are continuously transformed into safe containers of fiber-reinforced concrete and then transported to RU RAO for final disposal", adds Žiaková

The containers have a dimension of 1.7 x 1.7 x 1.7 meters, the thickness of the wall 10 centimeters and stored in storage boxes arranged in rows and storage in two rows. RU RAO is a multi-barrier surface storage facility for the final disposal of solid and solid low-level radioactive waste resulting from the operation and decommissioning of nuclear facilities, for institutional radioactive waste and radioactive material captured in SAR. JAVYS is also a legitimate organization for the management of abandoned radiators and radioactive waste of unknown origin that occur, for example, in the collection of raw materials, iron and steel or at border crossings. , ie radioactive material captured

Nuclear and Dismantling Society, a. s., established in Bratislava, was established in July 2005, has been present since 2007. It provides activities in the field of nuclear energy. Its core activities include the dismantling of A1 and V1 nuclear power plants, radioactive waste management, spent nuclear fuel, institutional radioactive waste and radioactive material captured in SAR.
