The man was aware and complained of pain in the spine. "After completing the treatment of the patient, he transferred a helicopter and, in a stabilized state with suspicions of spinal cord injury, transported him to J. A. Reiman University Hospital of Prešov," Hopjak said.

The accident occurred in the Bardejov – Raslavice section. "The crossing was fully operational at the time of the accident, it is a level crossing with a barrier-free light signal, at which point rail traffic is interrupted in this section. " Ivan Popluhárová, deputy director of the communication department of the General Directorate of Metallurgy of the Slovak Republic, added.

The Presidency of the Fire and Rescue Corps on the social network added that at the time of the collision, 80 passengers were on the train. Fortunately, none of them was injured. "Serious injuries sustained by a person in a vehicle whose firefighters had to dispose of themselves with the aid of hydraulic equipment", clarified in the post.
