Netflix unexpectedly and silently canceled support for AirPlay in an iOS application

You will not see Netflix soon via Apple AirPlay. The streaming service has announced the end of the support on its site. The reasons are unknown.

The Netflix app for iOS can use AirPlay since 2013. This is not a feature that will bring essential comfort, but a pleasure. However, during the first week of April, users began to hear that the feature had stopped working.

This is not a simple mistake. Netflix added a line on its site, in the support section, stating that "AirPlay is no longer supported for use with Netflix due to technical limitations".

Technical limitations that are not further specified may have a basis in the new AirPlay 2 protocol, which Apple is making available to more and more devices. Or also in the new Apple TV + apple service, with which he wants to become a major player in the streaming service.

Netflix on Apple devices remains fully functional. In recent months, Netflix has imposed another, albeit less significant, limitation on Apple device users. Last December, the streaming service canceled the ability to create a new account via the iOS Netflix app.
