In this context, the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMI) has issued a first-degree warning against intense storms.

Valid for all eastern Slovakia from 13h to 21h.

Thunderstorms can be associated with brief but intense showers, where aggregates can reach 20 to 40 mm and wind gusts of 18 to 23 m / s (65 to 85 km / h).

"During the storms mentioned, it is possible that the water levels of small streams may rise transiently and that flooding events may occur at the outlet of the stream (slope runoff, mud streams, cellar floods, underground passages, underground passages) are possible, "explains SHMI.

Risk especially in Saris

Supercell storms can occur especially at Saris and will likely continue to move southeast.
