CSOB brings mobile payment. It's not Google Pay, but your own solution

ČSOB banka brings a new solution that supports the development of cashless payments: its own digital wallet ČSOB SmartPay. With a new application and a compatible smartphone, you pay in store simply by mobile phone. Otherwise, NFC technology will be used along with Google Pay.

What do you need?

With this application, bank customers can make contactless NFC payments via a digitized payment card by simply connecting a mobile to a payment terminal in the store. To use the new payment method, you must have an Android 5.1 and higher smartphone that supports NFC technology. You must of course be a customer of the bank and have a MasterCard credit card issued by the bank.

"This type of payment is very fast, simple and convenient, but as safe as a standard card payment.The customer can easily save his credit card directly into the application.Therefore, he can fully utilize his cell phone to make professional payments.The app also allows you to pay for your mobile when the internet connection is not available on their mobile phone.In this way, the customer can make 10 payments, " explains Anna Jamborová, spokesperson for ČSOB.

Card application directly in the application

Customers who do not have a MasterCard credit card and want to use this payment method can apply for a card. The simplest way is to apply for a card directly in the CSOB SmartPay application. The card can be obtained very easily for 3 years at no cost for his leadership.

"In the first few days after the release of the software, more than two thousand of our customers have downloaded and activated it, which we consider extremely positive." The application is currently in the pilot version, but has no impact on the reliability and security of the payments made.The goal is to test the functionality of the application on the largest possible number of mobile devices before generating traffic, which further improves friendliness ", said Jamborová.

How to activate NFC payment?

• First of all, you need to download the CSOB SmartPay application and register there.
• The registration and activation complete the customer by confirming the activation mail that he receives.
• Now, just add a credit card support to the app and always check it with 3-D Secure, a unique SMS code

How to pay for a smartphone? A little complicated

Customers have two options to make a payment:

1. After opening the application, under NFC Payment, click Pay, enter mPIN, and then connect the smartphone to the activated payment terminal. Payment information is displayed directly on your phone

2. By unlocking the mobile device and connecting it to the point-of-sale terminal enabled for payment. The screen of the mobile device then prompts you to enter the mPIN code. After entering mPIN, the client returns the device to the POS terminal. The payment information is displayed on your phone.
