The Czech auto plant Škoda Vision iV at the Geneva Motor Show (from 5 to 17 March) will present its next step in the field of electromobility.
Skoda unveils its first car based on a modular platform for electric cars (MEB). The four-way crossover with the coupe's body fascinates with its sporty and emotional lines.
The Škoda Vision iV is a combination of the athletic body, aerodynamically optimized aerodynamic 20-wheel rims and massive rounded fenders with a smooth line distinct from the coupé-style roof. The front and rear combine the Tornado feature line and highlight clean and uncut front door areas. Instead of conventional mirrors, the car uses cameras whose hoods look like shark fins optically.
The front is dominated by a new interpretation of a typical Škoda car radiator mask with fine vertical ribs and crystalline structures. In particular, a horizontal light rail connects the headlights to the top of the grille and distinctive air intake openings in the front spoiler enhance the sporty appearance of the vehicle. On the massive rear part, there is an aerodynamic spoiler and crystalline LED taillights. These now define the shape of the letter C, typical of Škoda cars, and together with the light strip of the rear diffuser emphasize the width of the vehicle. On the back, the inscription Škoda is lit with the red letters of each letter.
The year 2019 marks the entry of Škoda into the era of electromobility. The Czech automaker will launch the Superb PHEV model with a plug-in hybrid drive and a Citigo electric battery with a purely electric battery drive. In 2020, the first SEM platforms will follow. Over the next four years, Škoda will invest around two billion euros in alternative readers and new services related to mobility. By the end of 2022, he will present more than ten electrified models.
