Range Rover introduced its latest model. The first compact luxury SUV named Evoque in the second generation.
The Range Rover Evoque has taken over the design of its larger siblings, adding an entirely improved palette of models. When the first Evoque arrived in 2010, the manufacturer reworked the map of compact SUVs and became the first compact luxury model in the world. The new Evoque relies on the uniqueness of its predecessor. It adds new technologies, a brand new platform, engines, an interior, an infotainment system. The original are just the "hinges" of the door.
The new Range Rover Evoque can now be ordered and is available in three versions S, SE, HSE and the R-Dynamic version can also be improved. The car has a larger wheelbase for more passenger seats at the rear.
The vehicle's design clearly takes on the look of bigger siblings. Relatively small external dimensions (total length of only 4.37 meters) are used to his advantage. Its dynamic look is underlined by its 21-inch wheels, its new ultra-narrow die-cast lamps and a clean end of the coupe-style back.
Inside, you will enjoy more space for passengers thanks to a bigger driver. It has only increased by 21 millimeters, but it is sufficient that the manufacturer offers more space for the knees at the back. The new system is a 10-inch infotainment with two Touch Pro Duo displays. Infotainment offers a much higher connectivity rate thanks to the integration of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The luggage compartment offers up to 591 liters. Folding files increase this number to 1338 liters. The rear seats fold in 40:20:40.
The new Evoque subcategory will include the new Ingenium engines. The platform is ready to install hybrid engines soft and hybrid plug-in. Until now, the 150 horsepower version will be the most economical. The engine will consume 143g of CO2 / km, combined with the manual and front-wheel drive. The highlight of the offer will be a four-cylinder four-wheel drive gasoline engine and 300 horsepower with a maximum torque of 400 Nm. From the beginning, a soft hybrid model with a 48Volt architecture will also be available. The hybrid plug-in will be plugged into the year.
The new Evoque is the first model of the brand to offer a soft hybrid. This combines the belt start generator with the battery. The system turns off the engine while driving. When braking is below 17 km / h, the engine stops. The system recovers energy and can then use it to start, providing torque up to 140 Nm.
The plug-in hybrid will have a 1.5-liter 3-wagon with a maximum power of 200 hp and a torque of 280 Nm. It will be combined with an electric propulsion of 80 kW and a torque of 260 Nm. To do this, it should add a starter generator for regenerative energy recovery and engine start and a battery of 11.3 kWh located in the vehicle floor.
The new model is based on the new PTA platform for engines across the road. Up to 99% of the parts are new. The stiffness of the construction has increased, using a higher proportion of high-strength steels, while Evoque benefits from new manufacturing technologies, including the welding of laser roofing components. The new model also has 42% smaller jaws between the parties.
The car is equipped with the Terrain Response 2 system, it can monitor the environment very well, has a fatigue of 600 mm and has a range of power steering systems, including a parking assistance system. The interest is the hidden help in the rearview mirror. The driver can use the rearview mirror by default, but if he has a vision problem, the system can reproduce the rearview mirror and the entire rearview mirror mirror. The team can effectively remove blind spots during swallowing. Learn more in the video:
