BRATISLAVA, July 27 (WebNoviny.sk) – In the first half of 2008, 774 counterfeit euro banknotes were seized in Slovakia. Compared to the first half of 2017, the number of fake counterfeits is about half of 48.6%. As also informed the National Bank of Slovakia (SNB), more than 90% of them were held in circulation.
Most of these counterfeits were denominated in nominal value of 50 euros. In the first half, it was 48.4%. Stoeurovky had a share of 24.7%.
At the same time, the Central Bank has recorded an increase in the incidence of counterfeits with a face value of 500 euros, that is 6.6%. During the first half of the year, 570 counterfeit euro coins were withheld in Slovakia during the first half of the year. The number of counterfeit euro coins seized has been declining for a long time, according to the central bank. The largest share was composed of counterfeit coins denominated in nominal two euros (75.6%). All counterfeits of coins were kept in circulation
