The company found that up to 61% of people did not feel comfortable sharing information about their location with websites and apps. In 2016, this percentage was lower at 39%. In addition, more than half of respondents fear that everyone can see everything they do or watch on their devices, and a similar percentage fears that someone may follow them using geolocation information.
Applications not only have access to a huge amount of data, but they are often run in the background without users knowing at all. According to the survey, 83% of Android apps have access to sensitive data from their owners, and 96% of Android apps can run without their consent. Nearly half of users say they do not check permissions on their preinstalled apps and about one in five do not check permissions to download and install new apps
