DUBLIN – Robbie Keane, 38, has officially ended his career as a professional footballer. Former Liverpool FC, Tottenham Hotspur and Celtic Glasgow have confirmed the end of a 23-year career on Thursday.
"From the Crumlin United team around the world and in cities like Milan, London and Los Angeles, I've never imagined where my footballers could go, but it has exceeded all my expectations as a Boy growing up in Dublin From the moment I leave home at the age of 15, it seems to me that eternity has passed and now I am announcing that my football career is over after 23 years, " said 38-year-old Robbie Keane in his statement quoted by BBC Sport.
The former Irish scored 126 goals in 349 English duels in the Premier League. In total, during his career, he has awarded 325 clubs and 68 prestigious hits, in the most valuable jersey that he has scored 146 times. His last club-level performance was Calcutta in India. The ATK team played in the 2017/2018 season during which he played in nine matches and scored six goals. Already since Sunday, we know that Robbie Keane will officially become the new assistant of the coach of the Irish team of Mike McCarthy.
