Slovakian hockey players will fight for the last participation in the ISBHF World Championship in Kosice (June 14th to 22nd).

Coach coaches Marián Hambálek took second place in the base group, gaining eight points for the three victories against the United States, Great Britain and the Czech Republic in four duels.

The triumph of the north-west neighbors was particularly important, as the Slovaks jumped from fourth to second and defeated the Czech Republic champion before fighting for third place.

Slovak ice hockey players, as well as the winners of the Canadian base group and the third Americans, qualified to form a mini-group of three, from which the top two teams qualify for the final.

The national players will not participate in the tournament on Wednesday and the next match will be expected Thursday at 16:30, when they will face American hockey players. Friday at 2:45 pm, they will take action with Canada, after which the composition of matches for precious metals will be clear.

So far, at the sixth World Women's Hockey Championships, Slovaks have won five times more medals. In 2011, they had gold in 2007, 2009 and 2013 in silver and in 2015 in bronze. Presented in Pardubice in the Czech Republic for the first time in the history of the World Cup, they did not get on the podium and took fourth place unpopular.
