WASHINGTON – Former Slovakian hockey player Peter Bondra is no longer ranked second in the historic Washington Washinhton Capitals spot. In the third leg, Nicklas Bäckström pushed him with three assists to defeat the New York Islanders 4: 1 in Washington during a game Friday in the NHL.
Bondra got 825 points (472 + 353) in the Capital jersey, while the Swedish center has 827 (215 + 612).
The Canadian leader in Washington's history remains the current captain, Alexander Ovechkin, with 1,150 points for 625 goals and 525 assists.
