BRATISLAVA – Lunch will be free. However, because of the problems faced by some elementary schools, the effectiveness of the law has been set aside. Starting in January, only preschool children will be free and children from primary and secondary schools will have to wait until September. In this way, Smer-SD wants to go to schools that have a problem of personnel and technical equipment. The state will also provide financial assistance for these measures.

This measure was approved by members of the Smer-SD party with the Association of Cities and Municipalities of Slovakia. Robert Fico, party chairman, also said schools would also provide financial support. The financial department is committed to paying two million euros to solve the potential problems related to this measure in practice. Schools have the opportunity to apply for financial contributions to facilitate their transition from the current system to the free plan. "The Ministry of Labor will provide financial support to cities and municipalities in the field of employment.From the Treasury, we promised two million euros for areas in which the situation must be addressed", Fico said today.
