The Spanish court sentenced a Danish citizen to eight years in prison for fighting militants of the extremist Islamic State (IS) organization in Syria.
The court also informed Ahmed Samsam of the financing of terrorism, the acquisition of weapons in Spain and support for jihad on social networks
The court declared that a 29-year-old man, born in Syria and having acquired Danish nationality, went to Syria in 2012, 2013 and 2014. As a as a foreign fighter, he participated in major battles, for example, fighting at the airport of the Syrian city of Rakka in 2014.
