"In total, 120 soldiers of the 2nd Command of the Mechanized Brigade and other units of the Armed Forces of the RS participate in the largest international exercise Anakonda 2018 organized by the Polish Armed Forces in the training area Orysz military / Bemowo Piskie, Capáková said.
According to the spokesperson, the purpose of the exercise is to examine the ability to conduct operations within a coalition group in response to growing hybrid threats, as well as to conduct operations decisive military forces in an international environment. At the same time, they want to demonstrate their ability to deploy and maintain the combat strength of allied forces.
In Anakonda 2018, approximately 12,500 soldiers and about 5,000 soldiers in Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and the Baltic Sea will participate in Polish territory. In addition to terrestrial technology, they will also support 45 warships and 150 aircraft and helicopters.
The Anaconda military exercises have been held every two years since 2006. As the Ministry of Defense has announced, this year's exercise focuses on the cooperation of individual military units. The largest exercise of Polish armed forces over the past 27 years will take place in the international command structure of land, air, naval and special units.
