Some patients refused to take blood at the beginning of the week and others had to pay. "Today, I paid 50 euros for subscriptions as a deposit, and I will pay anyway", one of the dissatisfied patients reported.
Demanding financial needs
The contracts with both companies were terminated on the last day of May. The reason was the financial requirements. "Companies that provide laboratory diagnostics have raised such financial demands in the negotiations, which VšZP has not been able to satisfy," insurer in the minutes. Thus, both companies should be reimbursed by VŠZP for laboratory examinations carried out only as part of urgent health care after approval.
"We assume that the reimbursement of laboratory exams will be almost 100% for insured persons hospitalized in health facilities. Medirex and Medicyt will not reimburse VšZP for laboratory diagnostics performed as part of preventative and suspensive health care, " she wrote in the press room on Friday. Health care providers requested that laboratory samples be sent to other VšZP contractual partners.

Bad financing of the sector
At the same time, the ministry has set up a working group to analyze the possibility of creating a public limited company. The goal is to make laboratory investigation methods in the hands of the state in the future. "The station is systematically working on the measures to be taken to prevent individuals from entering public health facilities", ozrejmila Eliášová. For example, most state hospitals already run their own pharmacies.
"Today, VšZP bears the consequences of poorly adjusted funding from the health sector. We do not want such a development, we do not want the insured to bear the consequences of the instability of the sector and believe in a quick correction ", the insurance company added in his opinion. VšZP also tries to contribute to efficiency by implementing the Value for Money austerity measures in order to stabilize the economic situation for the future.
