As of January 2019, Slovak Telekom will no longer sell classic paper refill cards for prepaid cards. As the first operator in Slovakia, it will prefer digital recharges and thus contribute to the protection of the environment.

After more than 20 years, the operation of prepaid cards has evolved considerably. The Easy brand has been around for a long time, but customers have been diverted from primary card recharge via 14-digit payment codes and have a clear tendency to recover credit: from a monthly subscription, via the Internet, a automatic teller machine, a pay television terminal or a telecommunication application. By 2018, they already used refill coupons only 3% of customers.

Slovak Telekom will be the first operator in Slovakia to end the sale of prepaid paper coupons and move to digitizing transactions. This step will also make it easier for customers to have an impact on the environment: less paper, fewer packaging and more environmental benefits for society.

Customers will be able to purchase refill coupons by the end of 2018, respectively. until stocks are exhausted at the points of sale. The coupons will be valid during the next period. Customers should not use the credit for vouchers purchased for the moment, but also for the future. Once the seller's shares have been exhausted, the prepaid coupons will no longer be available for sale.
