BRATISLAVA. Dušan Mitana, writer, playwright and Slovak scriptwriter, died Wednesday at the age of 72.

Born in Moravský Lieskov, he was born on December 9, 1946. After graduating from the general secondary school of Nové Mesto nad Váhom, he worked for a while as a worker. In 1965 he entered the Comenius University in Bratislava, where he studied journalism.

After one year, he finished his studies and began working on the writing of Mladá tvorba, where he also published his first literary works. He then published his works in Romboide and Slovak Views.

His best-known works include the Dog Days news collection, the Patagonia novel, the My Nativity Cemetery and the Apocalypse book, nominated in 2005 for Anasoft Litera.
