Sisters Paulin and Ivona Fialki will kick off the World Cup in Pokljuke, Slovenia. Long weeks of disagreements and media clashes between athletes and the Slovak Biathlon Federation (SZB) have led to the fact that the Fialks are failing to introduce the season in Slovenia, this will not happen.

The nurses signed a contract with the Slovak Biathlon Federation (SZB) concerning sports representation by the state. The signing took place after a mediation meeting at the Slovenian Olympic Committee (SOV). The mediation took place from 10 am with a longer lunch break until the tenth evening. Despite the skeptical conditions of some actors, the difficult negotiation eventually led to the agreement and the search for a compromise on the formulations of the association agreement with the union. At the end of the meeting, Sister Fialk and Federation President Tomáš Fusko signed a contract that will allow both biathletes to represent Slovakia in the next competitive season. Neither party wanted to clarify what compromise it was.

On the mandate of the chairman of the SOV, Anto Siekel, who currently sits at the General Assembly of the Association of National Olympic Committees in Tokyo, the vice-president of the SOC, Jozef Gönci, led the discussions on the mediation. His portfolio of responsibilities in this role includes the care of Olympians and athletes. SOV also participated in the meeting with the Vice President for Sport, Peter Korčok. SZB was represented by its president, Tomas Fusko, his vice-president and head of sports committees of SZB Pavol Hurajt, his general secretary, Silvia Šarközi, member of the disciplinary commission Pavel Melichar and his legal representative, Tomáš Suchý. Fialk's fathers were also present alongside their father Peter Fialka and their legal adviser Peter Handiak. The main Slovak sports inspector, Alica Fisterová, and Roman Bencik, director of the Dukla Banka Bystrica University – employer of the two biathlon performances – also took part in the negotiations.

"We sat together for eleven hours, but this debate was preceded by hundreds of hours. We tried to protect the honor of Slovak sport. It was today very important for us to d & rsquo; Prevent the demolition of public opinion against Slovak sport and biathlon, and I can declare that we have never stopped I believe that this contract will be signed today, we have everything done for this we can watch the sport in a peaceful way, and all doubts about the fact that the sport can not be erased in our own kitchen have been challenged by this marathon ", said chief mediator Jozef Gönci.

"I have no feeling of happiness and I am sorry that it is necessary that we have such extreme when we set up the operating system of our sport in an honest and responsible manner and that we must to defend our rights in a complex way and to reach the treaty, but I sincerely hope that it will come to fruition and that tomorrow we can go to the field of sport without having to call upon lawyers and search for the texts of the treaty Today we have a legal treaty, which protects the interests of the athletes, but of course the interests of our union. " SZB Fusko said for the official website SOV.

Peter Handiak, legal representative of Sicilian Fialkov, added: "We are aware that the Fialki sisters are not subject to a disciplinary sanction, which was a very important factor for the negotiation of Wednesday's treaty." The second important thing is that there has been an important criterion of public interest, and The third big thing from the point of view of sports law is that the sport as such, on behalf of the Slovak Biathlon Union, has released its autonomy. It is very important that the federations manage their own C & # 39; is a very good report for other unions that can take example on this process. "

The dispute between Sisters Fialkovi and SZB is linked to the agreement of national sports representative, which must be signed by all representatives. The two representatives refused, disagreeing with several of his points, particularly with regard to the transfer of personal rights to the union. To help, they retained the services of GARANT PARTNER legal s.r.o., a lawyer, who claimed that she was right to be the chief sports inspector in Slovakia.

The SZB reacted to the non-signing of the contract, so that its Disciplinary Committee of 16 November banned nurses from starting competitions associated with the Slovak Republic and has so far insisted that its opinion be taken into account. account. On Wednesday, the Slovak Minister of Defense Peter Gajdoš and the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sports of RS Martina Lubyová, also called on SZB leaders to abolish the prohibition to represent the nuns of Fialkov. According to Luby, they were interested in the public interest at the opening ceremony of the PS in Pokljuka and, although they were not allowed to fill it, they threatened the union with sanction.
