The government has approved the proposal of Prime Minister Petr Pellegrini.
The government proposes as the new governor of the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) the current Finance Minister, Petr Kažimir (Smer-SD). This follows from the proposal of Prime Minister Petr Pellegrini (Smer-SD), which was approved by Cabinet on Wednesday. The current director of the central bank, Jozef Makúch, is leaving his post prematurely in March of next year, before the end of his term.

The proposal must always be approved by the RS National Council (NR) and the new governor is then appointed by the president.
The government has also approved a candidate for a vacant position instead of a deputy governor of the NBS. Jozef Hudak offers this position to the firm. He must also identify Parliament with him and appoint him president.

Former NBS governor Jozef Makúch announced Tuesday, November 27, his departure from his post on March 1 of the following year. To do this, a new governor of the SNB will be appointed. Officially, his term of office was to end in 2021.
