MYJAVA. Pavel Halabrín, mayor of Stargate in Myjava, and 19 deputies of the city council (MsZ) took office for the next four years at the meeting setting up the MsZ on Tuesday.

In the marriage hall of the Myjava Town Hall, the law promised the solemn promise. Seven new MPs arrived at the municipal parliament. The 12 deputies of the previous legislature who expressed their interest in running for the presidential election defended their positions.

"I want to live on Myjave, so I'm not indifferent to the direction this city is taking, I'm interested in solving projects that will benefit the city.As a former sports athlete in Myjava, I am He also likes to build and that the inhabitants have not left Myjav and have not stopped a dwindling population of the city, "said one of the new deputies, Pavol Kosík, to his candidacy.

Of the 19 members of the body, there are 13 independent deputies, three for the Starostovia party and independent candidates, two deputies for the Smer party and one for the Slovak conservative party. There will be four women in the MsZ. It is interesting to note that only three members changed the district in which they were four years ago.

"Since I had bought real estate in another district where I was going in the spring, it made sense to run for the new electoral district, and there will be many new challenges in the future. new constituency, since three of the five buildings that the city has picked up after the self I am in favor of the council, and this is one of the reasons I was a candidate for the new district, "said Viera Feriancová, member of the municipal parliament for the fourth term, saying that the constituency was changing.

For Mayor Halabrin, the fifth term is online. In the last election, he had an opponent. In Myjava, voter turnout was below the Slovak average: 3,965 out of 9,442 voters, or 40.59 per cent. Halabrin received 2609 valid votes.

"I would like to continue what we have been doing here for 16 years: build a city, search for resources, rebuild buildings, improve or introduce services that have not yet been set up in Myjava, and I wants to keep what works in the field of culture and sport., which has been promised here, is very good, I know everyone, I know why they are good, I look forward to working together, "said the mayor.

He appointed Stanislav Tomič as his deputy, who was also his representative during the previous period. At the end of the council, the new MPs voted for the mayor to pay a higher salary than the law. They went from 33 percent to 50 before.

As of December 1, 2018, the base salary was 2.81 times the average monthly salary of the mayor of the national economy. As a result of this increase, Halabrin's monthly salary will reach 4021.50 euros.
